Generations of families have made membership in The Sutter Club a tradition. Native Sacramentans, newcomers to the city and non-resident members have found the Club provides a welcoming venue where they can make new friends, participate in social events and have fun enjoying anything from Happy Hour to gourmet dinners. Membership in the Club is by invitation only. Two current Members in good standing will act as Sponsor and Co-Sponsor for prospective members. They will then help guide candidates through additional referrals and the membership process.

  The Sutter Club offers you convenience and concierge level services. As a Member, you have access to our 24 hour parking garage with quick entry into the Club. Additionally, the garage is available to you during the events held at Golden 1 Center – a short eight minute walk.

- As a member you will have access to more than 90 of the finest private clubs in the nation. Our Reciprocal Club relationships will serve you from Boston to San Diego. Whether you are traveling for business or pleasure, we are happy to make an introduction so you may enjoy dining, entertaining or fine overnight accommodations available at many of the clubs.
  
  Closer to home you can enjoy special rates at local hotels when mentioning The Sutter Club. The reservation can be for you, an associate or a friend visiting Sacramento. We have arranged special rates at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento to accommodate family or business associates. A booking code is available through our Front Desk or Member area of the website.
  
  In addition to overnight accommodations, you can enjoy access and preferred rates at The Capitol Athletic Club, Sacramento’s premier fitness facility with pool, racquetball and handball courts, eights, spinning classes and more. It is also just a short walk from the Club.
Dress Code
- The Sutter Club continues to change with the times and honors many of our longstanding and valued traditions. To achieve a perfect balance between the two ideals we expect our Members and guests to exercise good discretion for the variety of occasions they will attend. Business attire at the Club is always encouraged. The Sutter Club's attire requirements are defined as:
  Formal Attire = Men: Tuxedo with tie (bow or long) or equivalent military, religious or public agency attire. Business Attire is not permitted. Women: Ball gown, formal dress formal blouse and pants or equivalent military, religious or public agency attire.
  Business Attire = Men: Business suit or collared dress sport jacket and slacks, collared shirt, necktie and closed-toe leather dress shoes or equivalent military, religious or public agency attire. Women: Business suit, pantsuit, dress, blouse, sweater, blazer, skirt, tailored slacks and dress shoes (including open or closed-toe shoes, loafers, and dressy sandals), or equivalent military, religious or public agency attire.
  Business Casual = Men: Collared dress sport jacket and slacks, collared shirt, and closed-toe leather dress shoes or equivalent military, religious or public agency attire. Women: Business suit, pantsuit, dress, blouse, sweater, blazer, skirt, tailored slacks and dress shoes (including open or closed-toe shoes, loafers, and dressy sandals), or equivalent military, religious or public agency attire.
  Relaxed Attire = Men: Collared shirt (including polo shirt), slacks, khakis, or Dress Jeans, and closed-toe shoes. Women: Dress, skirt, slacks, khakis, or Dress Jeans with sweater, shirt or top, and open or closed-toe shoes, loafers, or sandals.
  Rooftop Event Casual = Men: Collared shirt (including polo shirt), slacks, khakis, Dress Jeans, or shorts (no cut-offs or cargos) and closed-toe shoes or closed-toe sandals. Women: Dress, skirt, slacks, khakis, Dress Jeans, or shorts with sweater, shirt or top, and open or closed-toe shoes (no cut-offs or cargos), loafers, or sandals.
  Dress Jeans = Dress Jeans shall not be frayed, bleached, torn or contain holes. Management asks Members and their guests to use good taste and judgment when selecting their jeans to wear to the Club.
  Not Permitted = (Unless allowed on an event specific basis) T-shirts, halter tops, tank tops, spandex pants, tops exposing midriff, cargo pants, sweat clothes including hooded sweatshirts and flip flop sandals.
Reciprocal Clubs
- Enjoying Clubs within our Reciprocal Club affiliates is one of the best Member value items we offer. With a simple request, we can open doors to beautiful private clubs from Boston to San Diego. We are affiliated with a variety of clubs — City Clubs, Country Clubs and Yacht Clubs. Many City Clubs offer overnight accommodations that provide a rich and unique view of the areas you're visiting.
